The NATOPS flight manual is issued by the authority
of the Chief of Naval Operations and under the direction
of Commander, Naval Air Systems Command in conjunction
with the naval air training and operating procedures
standardization program. This manual contains
information on all aircraft systems, performance data,
and operating procedures required for safe and effective
operations. However, it is not a substitute for sound
judgment. Compound emergencies, available facilities,
adverse weather or terrain, or considerations affecting
the lives and property of others may require modification
of the procedures contained herein. Read this manual
from cover to cover. It’s your responsibility to have
a complete knowledge of its contents.
The Lockheed C- 130T. KC-130T and KC- 130T-30
are high-wing, all-metal, long-range, land-based
monoplanes. The mission of these aircraft is to provide
inflight refueling or rapid transportation of
personnel or cargo for delivery by parachute or landing.
These aircraft can be used as tactical transports
and can be converted readily for ambulance or aerial
delivery missions. The aircraft can land and take off
on short runways, and can be used on landing strips
such as those found in advance base operation.
